Day off

Today we needed some rest and relaxation so we went for a 12-14 km hike (!) in the woods outside Kraków. None of the photos turned out very well as it was quite hazy, but we came across a zoo in the woods where the deer enclosure had artificial snow! (Attached)

It was hard not to switch off. We heard the sound of what transpired to be an approaching tractor and made a joke that it might be a Russian tank coming over the hill! Then I thought about the young woman we met yesterday - her husband is in the Ukrainian army and was in a military hospital as he had been wonded. As we were speaking to her she had a phone call, informing her that he had been treated and sent back to the front to fight! She broke down at that point.

We really want to thank everyone who has sent donations. You can be assured that they are being used to directly help refugees in lots of different ways.

We'll be back in the food tent first thing tomorrow and, in the afternoon, will be meeting 2 refugee families to help them with visa applications to come to Trawden. We really want to urge everyone to think about whether, if you are unable to youself, you know anyone who may have space to host a refugee family for a minimum of 6 months. The UK government has only processed 18,500 visa applications so far (including people with family in the UK).

Thanks for your support. Please make comments if you have any.
