Unexpected connections and promotions, whether we like it or not
Some of the main movers and shakers in the fruit section are going home tomorrow, and we have been asked to take it over, getting the fruit, making sure it's paid for, and delivered to the food tent, and then given out. We are considering this, as it's a massive undertaking.
We are still linking families with Trawden and hope to have the first families there within a fortnight. We and others have contacted our local MP to speed up the visa process. Please continue to nag him/her.... it's still awful and takes too long. Still no government representatives here( if I were a betting man, doubtful everto see one, except for a photo op).
On the positive side, there are still lots of individuals here trying to make a difference.
Still we are affected everyday by what we see. Too many vacant eyes and too many tears. Disbelief as to how their lives have changed in such a short time. A man in his late 50s , teaching in a secondary school 3 weeks ago that no longer exists, flattened by bombs, crying on my shoulder.
My brain struggles to make sense of this.
Maybe it can't.
