Another move.

So our third move today. We feel like nomads. Accomodation remains scarce. However our accommodation, a simple but nice bedsit, stands in contrast to where some of the refugees are living.
The Polish authorities have tried very hard to be supportive of the refugees, but the reality of managing 3.5 million, in a short period of time would challenge any country.
So some of the places that exists are quite challenging.  Verylarge shopping centres have been converted into temporary accommodation, given over for use by the owners.
For those of us around Colne, think Boundary Mill, but twice the size. Emptied of everything. Then packed with humanity. Hundreds of camp beds side by side.
Forget privacy. Not enough facilities. Tensions and frustration. Washing as best as you can at sinks. Bemused faces that seem to say, how can this be happening? Dejection in some. Hundreds of faces. Not easy to watch. So many women and children. A few older men. Washing strewn
on balconies to dry. People trying to survive.

Volunteers that keep the show on the road with kindness, food,  empathy and advice.

And the British scheme, Homes for Ukraine, with all it's faults, offers some hope. So another shout out. Please, if you have any accommodation that you feel you can share, please do so. We desperately need sponsors with 2 plus bedrooms. These war refugees desperately need some peace and stability in the short term. Please help them if you are able to do so.
