What we say, and what we don't.
Today was supposed to be a good day, reporting the fact that some heaters that will be sent further eastward from here arrived, after a lot of people worked to make that happen, especially Alen, Denis and Vitalyi.
Yet today has been a hard day psychologically. This is partly due to the fact that we have made many friends and contacts here. So we are sent photos and images that might not make the BBC.
I received one such image today. A lifeless body of a 6 year old, bent over covered in the debris of a housing complex, destroyed after a Russian bomb attack. A life taken by someone who values nothing except his delusions.
A further moment yesterday after my English lesson at the UNICEF tent.. A child of 11, with whom I was having a conversation with his mum looked me straight n the face and said " I have had my childhood taken from me" His house destroyed. I had no simple words to say, but let him talk.
They say that in countries there is now "Ukraine fatigue" We hope that is not true.
