The end of another chapter...

... was really positive as we managed to match an 86 year old retired English teacher and her daughter with a retired couple in Pershore. We were thinking about all the individual effort and collaboration that have happened, and will need to continue to make this sponsorship successful:
- the funding of the fruit venture meant that we had a reason to go into the refugee accommodation, and meet V and O in the first place.
- we rely, as always, on our translator (pictured back row right) to explain the complexities of the UK sponsorship scheme and continue to liaise with V and O.
- the coordinator of the refugee centre will support V and O to apply for their International passports.
- the Ukrainian translator at MAD (Make a Difference) Foundation will arrange for the purchase of a 'Smart' phone for V and O so that they can communicate with their sponsors and others. Hopefully, we can find someone to fund this.
- Mo from MAD Foundation will complete the visa applications when this happens and, when the visas are approved, MAD volunteers will drive V and O to Krakow, arrange for an overnight stay if necessary and take them to the airport.
- and, finally, there are the sponsors in Pershore, who have offered their home and their hearts to two people who need a period of peace and respite.

We feel privileged to be part of this team of individuals who have given their time and commitment to help those in need during this war.
