I'm not dreaming of a white Christmas...

... for the first time in my life - because, the colder the weather, the more difficult it will be for the millions of people without heating and the soldiers in trenches. Ukraine seems to be having a mild Christmas period this year, which is something to be thankful for.

This morning we had another little interview with BBC Radio Lancashire, following on from when we spoke to them in Mykolaiv a week ago, just before we started our last aid run. That resulted in 2 generators being donated and, this time, 1 more generator, so far. We have made arrangements with UK4UA for their collection and onward transportation to Ukraine.

In the afternoon, whilst we were waiting for a contact at the aid warehouse in Lviv, Bob tried to assemble one of the new stoves we were given to trial. This resulted in a lot of muttering and swearing, and an end decision that this model of stove is far too fiddly to be worthwhile. I had a vision of a soldier with frozen fingers trying to put it together.
When the price of a chimney is added, there is very little difference in the cost of this stove and the larger, sturdier, readymade stoves we've been buying.

On our way home we stopped for a little bit of Christmas shopping, including a pile of sweets for refugee children in Letychiv. Early tomorrow, we'll drive to the border and exchange our current empty van with a full one, and then we'll be ready for our next aid run.

If you can help, please donate in the usual way:

1. Open PayPal and, when asked for name of payee or email, enter trawden4ukraine@hotmail.com.

2. Use the collection box in Trawden community shop.

Thank you.
