A day of uncertainties....
It's strange but when you set off on an aid run, you think that everything is sorted and you just go with plan A. Either everyone else has got it right and we haven't, or it seems, right to the last minute, we are boxing and coxing to get everything sorted.
One of the main items we are transporting, this time, is plastic sheeting to make temporary good quality windows for homes that have been damaged. 4 ply plastic and a good frame....the plastic obtained and delivered by a UK charity. This arrived today at a warehouse we use here in Lviv. We have no automatic access to this warehouse but they kindly work with us. Many thanks to Albert and Irina.
Some of this we will take with us tomorrow. We had a cunning plan to get the rest to Kharkiv, which didn't work out. Tomorrow is another day.
We will go to the warehouse tomorrow and see what we can work out. Even late today we were working out which way round to do our trip as we have several places we need to be.
Then our wonderful Polish colleagues, organising the van that they are bringing over from Krakow, setting off at sparrow's fart, so that they can be here at about 08:00, in order for us to get on our way. And tonight sent this....van ready to go....
...still tomorrow there will be negotiations with the warehouse in Lviv around things we might temporarily need to leave.
All this and then there is the support of doctors here in Ukraine. Fiona has had some issues around her health. Today we had to see a doctor who made a full examination of Fiona at no cost. On our return from Kharkiv, this will be followed up.
