Recovery......
Today we slept in till 9am. A real luxury. Often, on our aid runs the alarm goes off at 5:00 or 6:00am, with the knowledge that there is 8 to 10 hours in the van ahead of you. A pleasure to read a book, have a cup of tea in peace. Felt good. However, as usual our day is taken up organising the next aid run.
I want to go briefly back to yesterday. On our way back from Kyiv we stopped to pick up some plastic sheeting for our next aid run. Unfortunately, there were no others working at this warehouse. So Fi and I had to physically lift each of these rolls into the van. We managed but it was really hard.
If you think those rolls are light, they're not.
We have started to load our van for the next run. We will be going back to Kharkiv on Wednesday. We were sent some amazing videos of the destroyed villages where the aid went. If you are interested to see these videos, please contact us and we will send via WhatsApp. The military would not allow us to go there as it's considered too dangerous. Nevertheless, our contact and her helpers took it there. Unsung heroes.
There is a lot of misinformation going around about what's going to happen over the next few days in Ukraine on the first anniversary Fears of a Russian blitzkrieg, etc. We will continue doing what we do. Deliver aid.
