After an enforced break

...due to covid, tomorrow we are back on the road.
Whilst confined at home, our Polish friends were able to take two vans and deliver aid to some of the worst affected areas to the east of Kherson. Dangerous areas, not only for the people living there due to fairly constant shelling, but for people trying to support in that area.
Many of the villages and small towns we deliver aid to have been badly damaged or in some cases destroyed. It's hard to comprehend, that a place like Trawden could just be reduced to rubble, with all the misery that goes with it.
The killing remains random and terrible. In the centre of Kherson, 3 more civilians were killed by Russian shelling at a supermarket. And yet there are still people prepared to risk their own safety to support Ukraine in their ongoing fight for their survival and independence.
The photo above is aid we took to the Kharkiv area, that was then distributed by a small organisation we work with.
The two Polish vans have also suffered in the latest trip, with both of them needing repairs. Many roads near to the front line have been destroyed and are barely passable, with massive potholes. 30 miles can take 2 - 3 hours.
One of the vans will be repaired in Ukraine, the other one has limped back to Poland. These are the ongoing costs of providing the aid, which all small charitable organisations face. Many run on a shoestring, where even having enough money to pay for the fuel for the next run can be a challenge. Still they go on.
Because there has been a bit of a lull with the blog, we are catching up with some pictures of aid that was distributed from our last aid run.
Finally a picture that requires no words, in case we forget the cost of this illegal war.
Your ongoing support remains invaluable to us. We still have a lot of work to catch up on. Tomorrow we start again.
If you can help in any way please donate as follows. Any amount, no matter how large or small, is valuable to the work we do here:
