There's always something more to do...
We are always looking for the next connection or opportunity....today we were able to link up with Alen, who we worked with for so many months in Krakow. Another passionate supporter of Ukraine, who is aware that, when Ukraine wins the war, it faces enormous challenges.
Alen has always, like us, been self funding. He always sees a way forward. We worked with him in a food tent in Krakow. I have worked in many kitchens, cooking when I was younger, but never enjoyed myself more in a basic kitchen, together with Alen, cooking some1500 meals a day for refuges. Three of us in the kitchen and never an angry word....
In the afternoon we linked in with a Ukrainian volunteer couple, who have a small warehouse. They were able to donate some food for us to add to our aid run: cheerios and cornflakes, would you believe? And we were able to leave some blankets and towels with them. Often it's about finding a way forward in collaboration with others...
Tomorrow we collect the textbooks that we will take to the school in the Chernihv area. It's always boxing and coxing, trying to find a way forward. But we are glad to be here to do this.
