A bridge to nowhere.....
...whilst walking near Lviv Polytechnic university, we came upon this bridge. I hope this is an art installation, otherwise, I can't, for the life of me think what possible use it is!! Someone here might enlighten me.
Today we met with our Polish friends to try and organise the month ahead. I'm amazed at their passion and commitment. And how things work out, notwithstanding the hours spent working out the best laid plans. And then them going awry.
Otherwise, for us it's been a day of quiet recuperation. And saying goodbye to friends, especially in our local market. A Ukrainian stallholder who speaks Italian. So we are able to communicate. She never charges us for the veg she gives us. She's someone who has entered our lives. We parted with hugs...I wish I had words to describe the affection we feel for her. Another person who cares for this country. Below, buying peppers...
A small tale to finish. Last night, at about 10pm, the water meter inspector woman came by...this being Ukraine, it seemed perfectly normal. But, because of the bell/intercom systems in the apartments, everyone came out onto the balconies. This gave a perfect opportunity to say goodbye to our neighbours, as well as having the meter read. I will miss our neighbours here. It's been good, but it's time to move on.
