Another aid run nearly completed...

We dropped off the medical aid at a hospital in Dnipro, after another long, but uneventful, drive. This is the third time we have brought aid here.
It always comes as a major surprise as to how glad they are to receive this aid. As they look in the various boxes, it's like they've received presents, commenting on how valuable the aid is. The small refrigerators were especially well received.
So, again, many thanks to our Welsh friends who collected the really valuable aid, which, as usual, Shaun, UK4UA, drove over to Ternopil, where Lyudmila organised it for our collection, using the Koza Dereza vehicle.

In the evening we had some time to walk around Dnipro....a lovely centre by the river, where you can walk, and some beautiful cathedrals.

As we were driving along today we saw these huge pylons, which, in our imagination, became futuristic robots.....well, we do spend a lot of time in the van.
But the reality of the situation here always comes back....as I'm writing this blog, the sirens announcing shelling have just gone off.....and to take shelter. Just a reminder, if ever we needed one, that this country is at war. There is an estimate that some 25,000 civilians have already been killed in this murderous war, including children. It's beyond barbaric, and the worst is that it's not only happening here.

The red poppy fields of Ukraine. A symbol, reflection and memory, of other tragic wars and their human cost.
