Another day, another atrocity...

In the early hours of this morning the Russian army targeted the building of a medical facility in Dnipro with a missile strike. So far, there are 2 deaths and at least 30 injured, including 2 children. We don't put pictures of these atrocities on the blog but they are there to be seen, such as an injured man being pulled from the rubble of the hospital.
It's very hard to imagine the horror of these attacks, and also difficult to reconcile other images; such as, in Odesa a couple of nights ago, a group of young men in a car, speeding down a high street at 100km per hour and screeching to a halt with a handbrake turn - if there was a child in the way... It's irrational, but we want to scream at them, "What are you doing to help the war effort?!"

We will be taking aid to another hospital in Dnipro next week, thanks to Yaroslav, Wheels of Victory, for the loan of his van, whilst the Polish vans are being used for a separate aid runs. And to Shaun, UK4UA, for bringing a really valuable load of medical aid from the UK, including sterile gloves and masks, surgical gowns, dressings, syringes and two fridges for storing medication.

Because of collecting one van in Ternopil we had another convoy back to Lviv, where we arrived at the tail end of a thunderstorm. This is the scene where we made our usual stop for a cup of tea...
And this scene, nearby, is what we missed by an hour - 3 cm of hail stones!

We'll be in Lviv for 3 days, saying some goodbyes, clearing out the last things from our apartment, and planning our next aid trip to Dnipro, and then our next chapter in Odesa and Kherson. It's a struggle to picture what this will look like and how we'll manage the risks, but we'll get there.
From what we have seen in Kherson, the need for your donations will be as great as ever.
