A day of contrasts...

A slightly different day today...wanted to have the day off but never works out that way....the work has a way of never letting one go, there is always something to think about or do.
However, still managed to walk around Krakow a bit today, and came across the Jewish cemetery in Krakow.Very moving. The horrors of the second world war. A war that we thought might be the last....and yet being repeated not far from where we stood....so many headstones with families wiped out from 1940-45, on some, the names of the concentration camps marked on the tombstone where they were killed.
The contrast was in seeing and walking over a pedestrian bridge with the most wonderful figures, dangling in space, little holding them. Suspended in time, but not in motion, as they moved in the wind.
And then the highlight of the day day......buying the first airline tickets for a Ukrainian family that will arrive in Trawden on Sunday. New hope maybe......
