Journeys...

We were supposed to have a day off to celebrate Bob becoming a pensioner and we did go for a lovely bike ride to a forest area near Krakow. From one point we could see the airport from where Ukrainian families are starting their journey to the UK. We are on a journey, too, that we never expected to be making.

When we returned to the lovely house in which we're staying for a few days, there were phone calls and messages to answer. One was from a mother and 15 year old daughter who only completed their visa application 5 days ago - they have had it approved already. That is a record, by far, but we still have applications from over 4 weeks ago that haven't been approved. I imagine this government official in front of a pile of visa applications and just dealing with those on the top of the pile! How else to explain it...

Anyway, O and V are very excited to be going to stay with a lovely couple in Shaftesbury. It always gives us a boost.

Meanwhile, refugees seem to be finding us, wanting help to find a sponsor, even though we haven't been in the food tent for a few days.
