Putin invades, and how does the British government help fleeing Ukrainians with its visa scheme...it doesn't.

We are so angry. There is so much confusion around the Homes for Ukraine scheme that it has tied people up in knots all day. A Ukrainian consulate official phoned the British consulate in Warsaw for advice on what info was required re biometric testing and the embassy said they didn't have a clue!!!
However we plod on in our own sweet way. Another 2 completed today. Tomorrow 3 more lined up.
Fiona is not to well at present, a stye under her eye and struggling with the after effects of a cold. There is no doubt being here takes a bit a toll.
But as usual, an uplifting moment. Vita and Anna came to say goodbye to us. They are Trawden bound on Sunday. Anna playing with a tiny toy. How does a child make sense of it? It was a tearful farewell. Of new friends, who stay strong.
And instead of our government welcoming them with open arms, they build barriers, make a bad situation worse. Not so the sponsors.... they have a passion to help.
The photo was in a school window.... Ukraine, we're with you.....and having taken in 3 million they may have a point.
