Journey back to Krakow....
These cross border journeys can be long and tedious. We were lucky enough to get a lift back to Krakow, with a convoy that had taken vital medication to Lviv with onward delivery to the east of the country, and was now returning, ready for the next trip.
However as ever, there always seems to be things that seem most unlikely. One of the people travelling with us was an Olympic/junior champion in the foil fencing event. He will be participating in various competitions over the next few months. The foil is a sport that I knew little about, however am now much wiser due to the information given to us by this amazingly likeable young man...we will follow his progress with interest. He also gave us many insights into President Zelensky. He really is held in very high regard and seems to be a man of integrity, who works hard for his people....as should all leaders.
It was interesting, as we crossed the relatively short distance to the Polish border, how many smallholdings there were, and how many were being worked, some in very traditional methods, that may not have changed much over the years.
We have also firmed up our idea that we will be based in Lviv on our return. We have a few ideas about how we will be best used, but we are still working on the fine details.
And tomorrow is another working day, and you never know what the story will be....but there will be one.
