A raggle, taggle bunch of individuals...
and I mean this in the kindest way possible, working together, trying to help. As I write this, I think to myself, not in a million years would I put this lot together to get things done. They are all wonderfully individual, and passionate in what they do. For instance, in less than two weeks, the MAD ( make a difference) organisation and ourselves have managed to contact and then help two sisters and their children, seen in the photos, be collected and moved out of the bombed city of Kharkiv, brought to Lviv, via Kyiv, and will be on a plane to Leeds, then Barrowford. We had the honour to meet these two sisters and their children this afternoon by a partly disused quarry near Lviv.
These small organisations are often what make the biggest difference on the ground. Lots of individuals doing their bit, often on a shoestring with funding being a perennial problem. Big organisations have the big money.....but try getting twopence-happeny out of them!!!!
In the morning I started my English lessons with adults at the library near the refugee centre which was relatively enjoyable. Trying to get my head around could, should and would in the advanced class is difficult enough for me.... can't believe that they actually make sense of it....
