Books and publishing houses.
Fi should be writing this blog as she is really the " book" person, but as we know life isn't always fair.
We have seen how few books children have in the refugee centres. We would like to see if we can get more books into centres. To this end we contacted one of the oldest publishing houses in Lviv, Old Lion Publishing House. We basically wanted to know if they would give us some books. A bit to our surprise, they said yes. We have to wait awhile as they have many requests, six weeks or so. A good first step.
Second we have made contact with a food provider to refugees. We have been given some money, which we would like to spend adding to the food already provided in the form of fresh fruit. We will see how we take this forward.
We met with a large refugee family looking to move to the UK, two adults and 4 children. Not an easy situation to find a solution to, however we had some suggestions.
The fall out from the terrorists attack in Vinnytsia by Putin's army has been big in terms of social media coverage. Mainly around the death of the 4 year old child, dead in her pram. An image that will not be easily forgotten by me. The Russian propoganda machine said that they bombed this area to kill Ukrainian fascists. Leaves me speechless.
