We stand with Ukraine
Today we left the 'camp' in the Carpathian mountains in the pouring rain. It was an uncomfortable physical experience for us, with minimal hygiene, sleeping and cooking facilities. But we had an amazing experience of walking in mountains over 2000m in hot sunshine and riding down in a ski lift! As well as paddling in the shallow, rocky river by the camp, which reminded us of the River Wharfe near us. The children enjoyed this too - they had a scheduled group splash in the river.
We felt that we could have offered more, but the camp schedule was so rigid that we only had an 8pm slot for English lessons. And how much do children who have been running around all day want to learn English?! However, it seemed that the younger children, especially, enjoyed the singing and, as always, we think it's important just for people to see us here.
