Loading Aid
Bob met with other MAD Foundation volunteers at a large humanitarian aid warehouse in Lviv this morning. They spent several hours loading 4 vans up to the point where the suspension was asking for mercy, with hospital beds, medicines, blood pressure machine, blood lines, surgical instruments, etc., for delivery to a hospital near the front line on Wednesday. A 2000+ kilometres round trip.
We are going to try to remember to put our methods of donating at the end of every blog, as suggested. We've discovered that the Just Giving site is not working effectively at the moment, although we've asked for this to be checked. So, for now, these are the best ways to donate:
I stayed at home to recover sufficiently from a cold to be a second driver, alongside Bob, for one of the vans - the largest, apparently! We plan to meet at the MAD office at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow. MAD Foundation has now kindly decided to pay for the petrol and other expenses, including overnight accommodation. This means that we can save our donations for other needs, which may become clearer over the next few days.
We would like to say a big thank you to "I" in the warehouse for enabling us to make the initial contact, and then trusting us to prove that we can transport and deliver the aid provided.
1. PayPal. Open PayPal and, when asked for name of payee or email, enter trawden4ukraine@hotmail.com.
2. The collection box in Trawden community shop....still difficult for our American/Canadian friends.
Thank you.
