A city in darkness, a flag, stars and a shooting star.

You don't expect to see bright stars in the night sky in a city of roughly 300,000.
We arrived at our stopping point for the night, in a city in darkness. No public lights etc. No traffic lights, no street lights. Nothing. We walked the streets in darkness. We came upon a huge Ukrainian flag blowing in the gentle breeze. The milky way as background and, to cap it all, a shooting star. In the middle of a city.

We are on our way back from our aid run. We were able to drop of our last bit of aid today. A stove to help in a community centre with winter fast approaching.
We also called in on a grandmother who helped us when our van broke down. She put on an amazing spread for us, which was all the more impressive given how little she has herself. Amazing kindness.
The drives here in Ukraine can be very challenging, with roads in very poor conditions. The van takes a bit of a pumelling.... as do our bones. But the countryside is so beautiful.
We had some lovely photos of Ukrainian families who we have helped in moving to England, enjoying their first Halloween in England. Part of their local community.
