Boxing Day....Blog by candlelight.
Starting at around 8:00, we set off for Odesa, arriving about 17:30. On the way we were able drop off a small amount of aid with a Pastor who helps to share it out with the local community, which continues to see their refugee population growing. We were specifically able to drop off paraffin wax and wicks for making candles, some actual candles and a small amount of food. However, the good news is that the Pastor can now access a large aid warehouse in Lviv, after we were able to put him in touch with this warehouse. Tomorrow he sets of with his van to collect the aid that is desperately needed.
The journey was without incidents, just very long and tedious. However there was a lovely sunset. These moments, beautiful in themselves, until you remember that you are driving in a country that has been invaded.
We are staying with a friend tonight. We were fortunate...the electricity went off shortly after we had finished supper.
So I'm writing the blog by candlelight wearing several layers and a blanket and a cold nose....
I just wanted to say how grateful we are for all the kind donations and words of support that we receive. It's never taken for granted, and the money is always well used supporting people in Ukraine. Many thanks for your continuing support.
