A New Year begins....

And what we hear most is that it will be the year of Ukrainian victory over Russia. Let us hope, but I fear that many more lives will be lost before the end of this war of terror. A town that we regularly go through, Khmelnytskyi, suffered a missile attack, and a young woman in her early 20's died and others injured. Not a military target but an ordinary residential area. These random terror attacks will, unfortunately continue. But the will of the Ukrainians is to have the Russians off their land.

Today, we made a new contact. A food kitchen, with few amenities but with passionate volunteers, preparing and distributing food. We're not sure how we can help this organisation, just now, but we find that any organisation or contact can turn out to be useful.

Otherwise, it was nice to have a bit of time for ourselves. A walk amongst the large number of people walking in central Lviv's pedestrianised area. Lots of street musicians and singers. A coffee and a delicious apple strudel. A walk through a park. It feels somehow strange doing ordinary things.

And that's our New Year's Day. We want to wish you all a Happy New Year. Keep safe and well.
