Driving home for Christmas....
Well why not have two.... actually it's a big source of contention here at the present time. The traditional orthodox Christmas is on the 7th, with Christmas Eve being tomorrow. But it's laden with connotations of the orthodox Russian church, so you might envisage how it's viewed here. And yet many still celebrate this day and it's traditions.
I've never been in a country that will have to face such major challenges with regards to language, identity and respect for alternative views.
So we drove back to Lviv from Kyiv today. Initially in a blizzard, that fortunately turned to rain.. Seven hours of driving. And then our tea breaks in the cab with our thermos of tea. Lunch: cheese and crackers and tomatoes, again overlooking a lake. And the ducks, hens and geese guarding the road....
We got back in time to Lviv for Fi to get to the dentist for another session. More pain unfortunately. Hopefully, now just one more session.
We are still working out how we get the 3 generators that are now in our garage down to South Wales....any suggestions, please let us know.
Welcome back. Get some rest and stock up on good local coffee beans for your trip home.
