Loss....

Sometimes, some of the thoughts we have and the comments we make here are suppositional and hypothetical.
Not tonight.
We have stayed with this family, shared supper with them. At the start of February 2022 they had a nice house and life. Ordinary folk. By March 2022, with the Russian invasion, their world was turned upside down. Destroyed in seconds. Things they had worked for all their lives. Thoughts that things would go on as normal. A future.
The first photos are of their home prior to the invasion.

And this is their home now.
The Ukrainian authorities sent bureucrats to take note of the damage. But nothing has been done to assist.
These were the shells that, in brief moments, changed everything.
All this, and the horror and fear of having the Russian invaders occupy your village for over a month.

Where and how do you start to rebuild your life? We often here the words,        "stay strong," in Ukraine. We understand this sentiment. And it's important to do so. But never forget the ones that have lost so much. And not only material things. Slava Ukraini.
