Not everyone is content with politicians here
I suppose a bit like the world over. It's surprising for a country at war how much dislike there is for the politicians in Ukraine. We here it often, though certainly not always, that politicians are more interested in looking after themselves and their rich friends, than the general population. We can't comment on this but just report what we are told. So for example a basic state pension we are told, is around £40 a month. Don't ask me how anyone can survive on that here, unless they have additional family support. If they have medical needs it must be impossible.
The one thing that is always positive is the support for the soldiers. I have not once heard a bad word said. And also they say, when these young soldiers return, they will not quietly accept the status quo. They will want better. Let us hope that it will be so.
Fiona continues to improve slowly. Up and walking a little bit more today. When Fi's up to writing the blog, she might give you an insight into Ukraine hospital food....and especially kasha....
And the first sign that I've seen that winter, although still putting up a fight, may soon be behind us.
