Sunday
It was a morning of admin and cleaning. In the afternoon we had some shopping to do and took the van. On the way back we dropped some aid at the hostel for internally displaced people that we have supported before - some nice clothing for adults and children, blankets, diapers and toiletries - from Cardiff for Ukraine and the Penparcau Hub in Wales.
This hostel houses 70 families, currently, over 3 floors of an old building. Each family has its own small room with bunk beds, and residents share fairly basic shower and kitchen facilities. However, they said that conditions, particularly over the winter, were much improved with the gas stoves and electric hobs that we bought for them with donations.
Some of the hostel residents were waiting for us, really eager to see what we had and so grateful for this small amount of aid. We get the impression that they don't receive much from other aid organisations, as they don't seem very prominent. We only stumbled on the hostel by accident, when we were out and about last year. Although we're moving from Lviv soon, we won't forget these people and our brief encounters with them.
