Children
Following on from Bob's blog yesterday, which included Friday's shelling of Kherson, in which 3 children were seriously injured in a playground...these are statistics from the national Ukrainian news channel, Suspilne:
"As of the morning of June 17, more than 1,512 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 488 children died and at least 1,024 were injured of various degrees of severity...
Children were most affected in the Donetsk region — 464, Kharkiv — 284, Kyiv — 129, Kherson — 111, Zaporizhia — 91, Mykolaiv — 89, Dnipropetrovsk — 81, Chernihiv — 71, Luhansk — 67...
On June 16...children aged 15, 16 and 11 were injured as a result of artillery shelling by the Russian army in the city of Kherson."
Those children were playing in a similar, nearby playground to this, where we delivered aid the previous day.
Today, we met up with my son, Sam, who is in Ukraine for about 10 days, to experience, for himself, the situation in this region and to help us deliver aid.
