The Russians keep killing civilians...

...as well as injuring many. The southern regions of Ukraine, Odesa and Kherson, as well as other areas, have suffered an increase in shelling and missile attacks in recent days. This is allegedly to slow down the supply lines of the Ukrainian counter offensive.

So I would like to ask any Russian, how firing a mortar bomb, into a children's playground yesterday in Kherson, critically injuring 3 children, is anything less than an act of brutality and terror? We were told of this outrage by a friend who lives in the next block of flats. This incident has now been independently verified by news agencies.

The playground is, in fact, next to a block of flats where we deliver aid.  The hundreds of flats are built around small squares or courtyards. There is usually a small communal area and small playground. These playgrounds tend, often, to be very old and dilapidated. We've been to these blocks of flats. We are due to go again. There are no military targets, just flats, occupied by civilians.

The terror just continues. You never know when the next shell or mortar will arrive. I sometimes despair at the cruelty of countries who can inflict, with apparent impunity, such random killing and maiming. May the leaders who start this bloodshed be one day brought to account.
