Odesa wholesale market

...was where we spent the early evening, buying fruit and vegetables to take tomorrow. Initially, it seemed chaotic but we soon got into the rythm of things.

It worked really well, but would have been much harder if we had not had help from Larisa and her husband, who acted as both translator and price haggler in chief.

We managed to fill the van up to its weight level, with a variety of really good fruit and vegetables. It was donations, mainly from Trawden, and further support from family and friends, that made this possible.

To take the items to your van, you hire the services of a barrow boy....weaving his way around the vans and stalls....not an easy task. As an aside, ours had done some prison time....we didn't get the details.

We were thanked by some of the stallholders for what we were doing and some offered extra discounts. Again a good positive experience....
We set off early tomorrow.
